![]() Alex Gaskarth’s recent comments about being happy to support growing younger bands like 5SOS shows maturity and love for the music they make and the music that’s influenced them. All Time Low is an American rock band from Towson, Maryland, formed in 2003. In a combination of serious effort to make a back to back lyrically and musically strong album, as they’ve always had the capability to do so, whilst displaying their ability to tell a story from track 1 through to track 13 Future Hearts appears to be a complete representation of where the band are and why they’re happy with the music All Time Low make. ![]() Old Scars/Future Hearts blasts out “we’ve got scars on our future hearts but we never look back, no we never look back” and perfectly anthems the bands strong message that they are here to stay. With a final farewell the last track is an almighty kick in the face of the negative critics over the years. And produced by none other than John Feldmann, also working as hard as ever with Sleeping with Sirens and 5 Seconds of Summer, you’d be lucky to find a more carefully crafted, devoted album and the proof is in the fans almighty reaction. However we can all admit this wouldn’t be a true ATL album without a few loud, head banging, car blasting songs like Don’t You Go or Cinderblock Garden now would it? Including appearances from Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden and Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus the album couldn’t have possibly featured more prestige. With so much left to do you’ll be missing out and we’ll be missing you” showing Alex Gaskarth’s immeasurable ability to write a truly lovely and special song, especially to whoever it may be written for. Missing You and Tidal Waves, featuring Mr Mark Hoppus, are certainly the lyrically deep and highly emotional tracks on the album with lines such as “Don’t lose your fight kid, it only takes a little push to pull on through. ![]() Keeping up with the albums theme that the band are finally settled in their music and success, ‘chasing after rock and roll’ in Kicking and Screaming and ‘dying to live’ in Something’s Gotta Give are just lyrical snippet that show the bands hearty effort to keep their music genre alive and struggle, as they kind of have been up until now, to get the debut Number 1 album (in the UK charts) that they truly, truly deserve. Chanting the lyrics ” We were just kids, we were just kids singing!” gives Future Hearts a heavy youthful feel to an album that encompasses the growth of the band in a rather nostalgic way. It’s pretty clear that the foursome have definitely come a long way since the days of Jasey Rae and might not be kids anymore but they’ll still keep on singing. Satellite kicks it all off as a sort of intro to the album being the shortest track and definitely setting the mood for what’s to come. ![]() Well it’s safe to say I’ve finally snapped out of my lunacy and currently have Future Hearts on indefinite repeat vowing never to slip into suck a funk again and nearly bypass an entire album of possibly some of ATL’s greatest. no album research, no checking out any potential follow up songs just back to my iTunes oldies (but goldies bear in mind). All Time Low’s latest album Future Hearts was only released on 9th April and I’m somehow super late to the party?! The first single from the album, Something’s Gotta Give, was released 12th January and in all my observational wonder I found the song, head bobbed along and finished it there.
